Do not update version protocol if not selected
Currently the GUI tries to updated the version protocol even if no new protocol is selected. This hinders us from getting around errors such as:
Cannot change protocol on a version that has instances.
To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
